An 'exceptional' ram combining elite wool and quality carcase traits set a new on-property record at the 23rd annual Macquarie Dohne production sale on Wednesday, September 23.

Buyers sought structure and well-nourished wool at the Macquarie Dohne ram sale, held at Carinya, near Ballimore, on Wednesday, September 24.
All 162 lots sold to a top of $5500, twice, to average $2960, up $769 on last year.
David Berrell, Midgery Dohne stud, Walgett, secured the first $5500 ram, MD241741.

Buyers sought drought-tolerant rams with high growth ratesat the 21st annual Macquarie Dohne Production ram sale, held on-property at Carinya, Ballimore.
The Nadin Family achieved a full clearance of 141 rams to a top of $6000 to average $2191.

Interstate buyers secure top-price ram at Macquarie
Interstate buyers started the bidding off strong to secure the top-priced ram at Macquarie Dohnes' 20th annual production ram sale at Ballimore last week.
Topping the sale was the first ram of the draft, Macquarie Dohnes 228034, purchased by Craig and Jude Ross, Lower Norton, Victoria, for $5000.
The sale offered 170 rams and sold 148 to average $1912, reaching a clearance rate of 87 per cent. Continue reading

While the quality of Dohne sheep on offer was of good quality, a small crowd showed up to the Ballarat Showgrounds for the 18th Annual 2022 Victorian Dohne Invitation Ram Sale that did not spur on a large amount of competition during the auction.

A clearance of 97 per cent was achieved at the Macquarie Dohne Stud's 19th Annual Production Ram sale held on property near Ballimore. This sale of 228 rams was the largest offering of Dohne rams ever from one vendor.

At Macquarie Dohne stud's 18th annual production ram sale at Ballimore on Wednesday last week, spirited bidding lifted the stud to a new high and what is believed to be a Dohne record average, after snatching that title from another which had taken the record just days previously.
