24TH ANNUAL PRODUCTION SALE
Despite the trying times, 2019 has been a successful year for Macquarie and our clients.

Client
success continued through both Auctions Plus and the saleyards.
Too many to mention but
some highlights;
As mentioned previously, if you are are non-mulesed it would be worth signing up with the Authentico Integrity Scheme by The Schneider Group. Register at gschneider.com/registrations.
Dohne wool that Schneider knows of fits the specs perfectly for some of their overseas clients. In fact, Schneider purchased the entire clip of one notable Macquarie blood breeder recently. So that Schneider can see what they have purchased in the past and keep their eye out in the future, could you please email your bale brand to Tanya macquarie@dohnes.com.au and we will forward to Schneider. As Schneider is an exporter, this could benefit you greatly. Schneider, will not receive any other details besides your brand.
A big thank you to the Macquarie staff, Robyn and the Nadin clan, Central West Genetics, secretary Tanya Barton, classer James Koster, seedstock agents Chris Clemson and Russell Hiscox of Clemson Hiscox & Co, auctioneer Paul Dooley, all associated classer’s and agents and especially our loyal clients who continue to support us through such trying times.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a wet, wet, wet, 2020.
John and Greg
Our 16th sale topped at $6000 and averaged $1880 with a 100% clearance.
The rams representing five families; Ace, Majestic, Olympus, Empire and Wardry, sold to Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales.
A volley of bids both on the phone and on-site saw Majestic 180459, a twin, sell to a top price of $6000. He had a post weaning eye muscle depth (PEMD) of +2.6 and was purchased via the phone for commercial breeders Craig and Jude Ross, Balmoral, Victoria. They also purchased a second ram from the Majestic family for $4000.
Volume buyers were composite breeders Mt Elephant station, Derrinallum, Victoria, who purchased 15 rams. They are looking to do a trial with the Dohnes to maintain their growth rates and carcase attributes and reduce their micron.

Macquarie’s sold 17 rams to $13,000 and averaged $2779. This was a record price at auction for a Dohne ram in Victoria.
The top priced ram, Empire 17-4684, was purchased by the McColl family, Bamganie, Victoria. The ram was the Champion New South Wales ram at the 2019 Australian Sheep and Wool Show and a member of the Reserve Champion National Pair.
He was in the top 10pc for PWT and YFDCV with figures of post-weaning weight (PWT) of 6.2 kilograms, a post-eye muscle depth (PEMD) of 1.1 millimetres, post-weaning fat (PFAT) of 0.4mm, a yearling clean fleece weight (YCFW) of 10.5 per cent and yearling fibre diameter co-efficient of variation (YFDCV) of -1.3pc.
The second top-priced ram Wardry 16-2966 sold to the Ellis family, West Wail Dohne Stud, Pimpinio, Victoria for $5000. 2966 was the other partner in the Reserve Champion National Pair.
