Macquarie year in review

19th Annual Production Sale
A clearance of 96 per cent was achieved at our 19th annual Production Ram sale with rams being sold across NSW, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, and South Australia.
The offering of 228 rams was the largest offering of Dohne rams ever from one vendor and was up by 30 compared to the 2021 Macquarie Dohne sale.
Overall, 222 of 228 rams sold to a top of $8000 for an average of $3000.
Topping the sale at $8000 was MD214702, purchased by O’Brien Poll Merino and Dohne Merino, Kyancutta, Ayre Peninsula, South Australia.

Auctioneer Paul Dooley, Tamworth NSW, Bruce Bright and Tom Pollard, Peter Milling and Co, Dubbo NSW, Chris Clemson, Clemson Hiscox and Co, Walgett NSW, and vendor John Nadin, Macquarie Dohne Stud, Ballimore NSW, with the $8000 top priced ram.

18th Annual Victorian Sale
A disappointing but expected result as most of our Victorian clients are purchasing from our in property sale. Macquarie topped the sale at $1750 and had the top average of $1437.50.
The top priced ram was sold to long standing clients Richard & Sarah Johnston, Longford, Tasmania.

Macquarie stud principal John Nadin, Ballimore NSW, with Nutrien Ag South-East Stud Stock Auctioneer Peter Godbolt with the top-priced Dohne ram Lot 25, tag MD214257 which sold for $1750.

As Macquarie blood has the largest throughput of Dohnes on AuctionsPlus it is difficult to mention every clients sale but some highlights of 2022 are;

Over the hook Results:

Jim, Sue, Mark & Caitlin Currey, Carinda NSW – Wether lambs off grass, 29kg dressed to return $238

Current News
We have just finished the first two rounds of a 100 donor embryo transfer program. These elite performance ewes impregnated to leading sires will produce approximately 700 lambs ensuring top genetics moving forward.

Nadin Clan
Peter – After a 3 year stint at Boonoke Merino Stud, Peter has branched out and will work at home along with James and Grace whilst conducting a sheep and cattle contracting business as well as sheep classing.
Pete along with James will be a big asset to Macquarie Dohnes.
