Majestic Family

Macquarie’s leading family. One of our oldest and most prepotent families.
Characteristics are early maturing…..deep wide bodies with deep wide twists and shorter in the leg while carrying a well nourished 64s, long staple fleece.
Sires have sold for $16,000 – MD010031 (Australian record price at auction National Sale 2002) to Uardry and Hendrick Dohne Studs, $15000 – MD041440 (Victorian record for a dohne) to Havelock Park and impact sire MD070583 to Chirniminup Stud, WA for $6500. MD070424 to Koonik Stud, Vic for $6000, MD088527 to Kardinia Stud for $4500, MD092424 to Havelock Park for $7000 & MD103737 to Barnadown Dohne Stud for $5200.


 

Olympus Family

Macquarie’s oldest family.
Characteristics are long & deep bodies, deep twist & carrying a long stapled 66s quality fleece.
Sires have sold for $20,000….MD030681 to Calga Dohne Stud, MD064492 to Havelock Park for $12200, MD41792 to Kardinia & Murragamba Dohne Studs for $8000, MD070475 to Havelock Park for $7000 & MD103595 to Midgery Dohne Stud for $5500.


 

Ace Family

A leading Macquarie family.
Characteristics are similar to the Majestic Family….deep wide bodies with deep wide twists and shorter in the leg, but are visually finer (66s).
Sires have sold for $12000….MD103168 (Premier sale topper 2012) to Havelock Park, Kardinia & Koonik Dohne Studs, MD070361 to Calga Dohne Stud for $7000, MD081641 to Havelock Park Dohne Stud for $7000 & MD103189 to the McColl Family, Vic for $4800 to top the Victorian sale in 2013. Flock rams have sold to $5200 at our on property sale.
Introduced sires include Kardinia KD040423 who sired MD092430….an outstanding sire. MD092430 is a ‘meat machine’ with great width, depth and twist. 2430 is a ‘free grower’ carrying an exceptional long staple fleece that is well nourished, bright and soft of 64’s quality.


 

Empire Family

Family started with the purchase of a sire from Mt Alma Dohne Stud, SA.
Characteristics are exceptional structure, length and depth of body carrying a stylish, well crimped, bright and soft handling 66’s quality fleece
Sires have sold to $8000….MD070496 to Midgery Dohne Stud, MD092293 to DD, Kardinia & Glenlea dohne studs for $4500 & MD114838 sold to DD at the 2013 Premier Sale.
Additional sires purchased for this family include Kintail Park KP100733.


 

Distinction Family

Distinction family was formed by MD010100 the 2003 National Sale Topper and the highest priced ram sold at auction in 2003. 100 sold to a syndicate of Middleview Dohne Stud, Dalgety and Steven Perry ‘Wyndabyne’, Warren for $15000.
Characteristics are plain bodies, early maturing with excellent medium/fine quality wool and conformation.


 

Colossus family

Colossus family was formed by the purchase of the Far Valley sire FV01- 0125. MD03-0912 was the second sire of the Colossus family, sold at the 2005 National Dohne Sale at Dubbo. Sold for $9,000 to David & Anne Berrell of Midgery Dohne Stud Walgett NSW.
Characteristics are long bodies, early maturing with excellent medium/fine quality wool on a think supple skin.


 

Apollo Family

The Apollo family started out with ram MD020196 the $10,000 top priced ram at the 2003 Riverina sale purchased by Coonong Dohne Stud, Urana. Characteristics are plain bodied & well-muscled with exceptional conformation and quality fine/medium wool.


 

Wardry Family

This family is based on Uardry genetics. The first Uardry sire purchased was UD010281 in 2002 for $12000. Leading sire is MD103594.
Characteristics are long bodies carrying medium fleece on a thick supple skin. Recent introductions include UD091550 & UD111252.
Outside introductions include Lucky Downs LDD090437.
